About Us

Physical medicine and rehabilitation aim to enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life to those with physical impairments or disabilities.

RehabWorx is an independent, acute and long-term rehabilitation facility offering comprehensive stroke and neurological rehabilitation. Conveniently located in the centre of Pretoria, at the Groenkloof Hospital, our team specialises in the assessment and treatment of neurological injuries caused by brain injury. Emphasis is placed on the restoration of function, addressing motor, sensory and cognitive deficits following stroke, acquired brain injury and other central nervous system insults (tumours). We offer initial care and treatment to all patients with a neurological condition whilst in hospital and continuing with on-going individual, out-patient rehabilitation.

Our philosophy of care and support enables us to understand that dealing with any neurological condition is a frightening experience for both the patient and family. We aim to provide a nurturing environment to enhance the patient’s recovery and facilitate achievement of the highest level of functional independence on a physical, social and emotional level.

Each patient is viewed as an individual and we work in partnership with our patients and their families to ensure that the most achievable level of independence is attained.

At RehabWorx, we aim to provide:

  • Comprehensive assessment of the patient’s condition and needs
  • Individual, patient-centred, goal-orientated neurological rehabilitation on an in- and out-patient basis
  • Passionate, qualified and experienced multi-disciplinary care team
  • Family Support

In keeping with the International Classification of Function (ICF), coordinated by the World Health Organisation(WHO), we endeavour to formulate a comprehensive profile of the patient, emphasising his/ her strengths in order to assist the individual in participating and reintegrating into society rather than focusing on the patient’s disability.

Our expert team always includes, Physiotherapists(PT), Occupational Therapists(OT) and Speech and Language Therapists (SLT) working alongside Consultant Neurologists and Neurosurgeons, Dieticians, Psychologists and Nursing staff of the neuro- spinal ward.
